So what had happened was....

After beginning my professional career in the entertainment industry as a sound designer in scripted TV in Hollywood, I began my foray into the content creation world by taking a production job at Live at the Bike poker stream in 2017, which had 22.5K YouTube subscribers. I quickly became their editor, videographer, and photographer, creating over 300 videos averaging over 100K views per video over three and a half years, and departing with the YouTube channel at 160K subscribers. I then helped launch the ground-breaking Hustler Casino Live (HCL) poker stream where, in addition to taking on the role of Technical Director, I built and led a creative team, crafting the visual presentation for the broadcast.

On May 1st, 2022, HCL made history by broadcasting the highest-viewed poker stream of all time when we streamed a high stakes poker game headlined by the #1 All-Time Most-Subscribed YouTube creator, MrBeast. The game came together as an event organized by popular live streamer Ludwig, who invited some of the biggest influencers on the planet. Among them was the highly recognizable blue-haired video game streamer known as Ninja, who is the most followed Twitch streamer ever with over 19 million followers as of December 2024. Ninja holds the record for most concurrent viewers of a livestream when over 600,000 viewers tuned in for a Fortnite stream he did with Drake. Also present were Felix Lengyel, better known as xQc, the most-watched Twitch streamer for three years straight from 2020-2022 in terms of watch-time, and Alexandra Botez, a five-time Canadian Girls National Champion in chess. Botez is a popular streamer who holds the record for most concurrent viewers of a chess stream with over 91,000 viewers tuning in at once to watch the BlockChamps event she hosted with her sister Andrea on their Twitch channel BotezLive where the sisters brought popular Minecraft streamers together to play chess. Throw in two of the most recognizable poker legends of all time, Phil Hellmuth and Tom Dwan, along with one of the most electrifying present-day high stakes cash game players, Alan Keating, and it was a recipe that created the most legendary poker broadcast in history, garnering just over 108,000 live concurrent viewers at its peak between Ludwig's and HCL's YouTube channels, where it was simulcast.

Poker content, and its creation, bears many similarities to sports content. Poker, while perhaps a seemingly slow game, actually moves very fast much of the time, particularly when major action is happening. There are a lot of ‘bang-bang’ plays where quick yet smooth camerawork is required, whether it’s shooting for cinematic intro and ending credits videos, or Live Switching while Technical Directing a broadcast with 100,000 live concurrent viewers. Capturing the critical moment where someone makes a quick all-in bet, or makes a quick decision to put chips in the pot, is essential. The ability to anticipate action, and be in the right spot for a great shot, whether it's poker, baseball, basketball, football or hockey, is critical. As a poker content creator with extensive experience playing sports and analyzing the strategies involved, I’m well prepared for the transition from creating the most-viewed poker show of all time to being part of the content team of a major sports franchise in the MLB, NBA, NFL or NHL.
